During the early 1970s, with the need for new domestically-produced vehicles, new military projects were started. One of these was the FIAT 6614, a light armoured car with the capability to have different variants, one particular variant was the FIAT 6614 with BPD ("Bombrini Parodi Delfino", an Italian Rocket company) Firos-6 MLRS system. The FIAT 6614 FIROS 6 was a rare variant and was meant to be a light MLRS armed with the FIROS 51, the same FIROS 6 launcher which could fire HEAT warheads. Ultimately, the Italian high command was not interested and did not order any FIAT 6614 FIROS 6.
The FIAT 6614 FIROS 6 was introduced with the Rocket Storm Event (which took place from March 13th to 27th) as an event vehicle. It is an MLRS (Multiple Launch Rocket System) with 48 rockets ready to be launched with good penetration and with an additional 96 stored in the hull. The armoured car presents impressive acceleration and can reach 100 km/h of speed, which is perfect for flank manoeuvres. The vehicle only has enough armour to protect against small-calibre guns, so it is not recommended to do direct combat.
