The RN Luigi Cadorna was an Italian Navy light cruiser and the lead ship of her class (also known as the Condottieri B class). Named after the Italian army marshal of World War I, the cruiser was laid down on September 19, 1930; launched on September 30, 1931; and commissioned on August 11, 1933. During the Spanish Civil War, the cruiser performed transport duties. When World War II began, the ship went to sea to lay minefields. On July 9, 1940, it participated in the Battle of Punta Stilo (also known as the Battle of Calabria). Although the cruiser did not achieve any notable successes, it successfully evaded a torpedo attack by a submarine and helped its sister ship, the Armando Diaz, which had suffered boiler room damage.
In early 1941, the cruiser was transferred to reserve, but it was back in service by fall, escorting convoys. In early 1942, the cruiser was relocated to Pola, where it was reclassified as a training ship. In 1943, it returned to service and again engaged in troop transport and mine laying. After the peace agreement was concluded, the cruiser first moved to Alexandria but soon returned to Taranto. Until the end of the war, it transported Italian troops and performed other transport functions. On February 10, 1947, a peace treaty was signed with Italy. Under the terms of the treaty, the Luigi Cadorna remained in the fleet but, due to its age, was used only as a training ship. It was scrapped in May 1951.
The RN Luigi Cadorna was introduced as one of the rewards for the Battle Pass: Season XXI, "Brave Archer", in its 1944 modification. The cruiser boasts a fairly good main caliber with the rate of fire of late Condottieri-class cruisers. It has a double armor belt that protects it well from the fire of destroyers and light cruisers. The cruiser also has excellent mobility. However, its anti-aircraft battery is subpar, and its survivability, especially against fast-firing opponents, is average at best.
