The DF105 was a support/light tank developed between France and Germany during the 1980s by the company Thyssen Henschel. The DF105 was intended to be used only as an export vehicle and not for domestic purposes. The DF105 introduced the same gun and turret as the Austrian SK-105, and had an overall very similar design. Its design and components were also based on the French AMX-13 and Argentinian TAM. The gun was the new CN105-57, only found on modernised AMX-13 tanks and the aforementioned SK-105. This tank had an autoloader making good use of its oscillating turret. The vehicle also used the same hull as the TAM and a relatively powerful powerplant. However, in the end, the vehicle remained a prototype due to a lack of foreign buyers.
The French DF105 was introduced in Update "Hornet's Sting". Being identical to its German counterpart means that it shares the same strengths and weaknesses; however, it now faces German vehicles more consistently. The armour of the DF105 is rather lacklustre, being based on a Marder hull with an AMX-13 style turret—even autocannons will be able to knock this vehicle out from the front. The main strengths of this vehicle are its excellent mobility, both forward and in reverse, its impressive rate of fire, and its hard-hitting HEAT shell. The high penetration of the HEAT shell and 5 second reload, combined with the good mobility, allow this vehicle to take out even the heaviest armoured opponents with ease, taking flanking routes while avoiding being spotted.
