General information

The T-34-85 No.215 is a special T-34-85 (S-53) medium tank of historical significance during the Chinese People's Volunteer Army's participation in the Korean War. The T-34-85 No.215 took part in the Battle of Pork Chop Hill, also known as the Battle of Seokhyeon-dong Northern Hill (石岘洞北山战斗), in July 1953, against the 1st Brigade, 7th Infantry Division. During a night patrol at a distance of 1,400 metres, the T-34-85 No.215 accidentally drove into muddy terrain while spotting a US tank column. The crew immediately camouflaged the tank to avoid aerial reconnaissance by US aircraft and successfully ambushed three US tanks the next day, destroying two and seriously damaging one. During the retreat, it engaged in firefights with pursuing tanks, destroying two more. Throughout the Korean War, the T-34-85 No.215's crew destroyed five tanks, nine mortars, one military vehicle, 26 enemy bunkers, one tunnel, and one command post. It also provided infantry support in seven combat operations.

In recognition of its significant military achievements, the Chinese Army awarded the prestigious title "People's Hero Tank (人民英雄坦克)" to the T-34-85 No.215 tank. All crew members were also given first-class merit awards. The decommissioned T-34-85 No.215 tank is now on exhibit at the Military Museum of the Chinese People's Revolution (中国人民革命军事博物馆) for public viewing.

Introduced in Update 1.95 "Northern Wind" during the 2020 Lunar New Year Sale, this unique historical premium vehicle, identical in performance to the T-34-85 (S-53), boasts significantly increased firepower compared to the previous T-34 (1943), thanks to the 85 mm Zavod imeni Stalina (ZiS) S-53 anti-tank gun. While its sloped armour provides adequate protection, players should not rely on it for prolonged engagements with enemy tanks as most adversaries at this rank can easily penetrate its armour. Notably, this variant lacks a turret roof-mounted heavy machine gun; however, this feature is included in the T-34-85 Gai (improved) version of the T-34-85 (S-53).
