The Saab A32A Lansen is the attack variant of the Swedish Saab 32 jet aircraft. Development of the Saab 32 project began in 1948. Initially, the aircraft was designed exclusively as a heavy attack aircraft. Key requirements included onboard radar, the ability to operate at any time of day or in any weather condition, a powerful strike armament, and the ability to reach any point along the Swedish coastline from the center of the country within one hour. Later, a fighter-interceptor variant, the J32B, was developed on the same platform. The strike version, the A32A, began entering service in 1955. For its time, the aircraft was a formidable aircraft, offering the pilot a wide range of external ordnance, good flight performance, and advanced electronics. A total of 287 aircraft were produced and remained in service with the Swedish Air Force until 1997.
The A32A Röd Adam was introduced in Update 2.29 "Sons of Attila". This version's camouflage replicates the livery of an aircraft marked with the "Red A" letter from the Swedish squadron F 17 Kallinge, which served in the 1950s. In terms of gameplay, it is otherwise identical to the standard version: it does not have exceptional speed or maneuverability, but the presence of powerful bombs and a ballistic computer makes this version of the Lansen an excellent attack aircraft. Its strong forward armament, consisting of four 20 mm cannons, advanced avionics, and good energy retention, allows it to effectively fend off opponents in air combat. However, the aircraft lacks countermeasures and air-to-air missiles entirely.
