Overview

Convertible Research Points (CRP) are a currency within War Thunder that can be used to accelerate the research progress of Tech Tree vehicles.

They are accumulated over time and are not reset at any given point. They require Golden Eagles to convert into Research Points for your vehicle. A percentage of earned Research Points are siphoned into this fund at the end of every battle. Convertible Research Points may only be used for Tech Tree vehicles; they cannot be used for vehicle modifications & upgrades, squadron vehicles or any other functions that utilise Research Points. CRP can be used on all types of vehicles such as Aircraft, Tanks, Helicopters and both the Bluewater & Coastal fleets. It is important to note CRP income is directly proportional to Research Point gain per battle, and therefore income varies depending on tier of vehicle used, battle effectiveness, whether you have a Talisman on your vehicle and the modes the player uses, among a variety of other factors. Furthermore, premium increases income of Convertible Research Points. The value of Convertible Research Points is tethered to the value of Research Points. This means that the value of Convertible Research Points is exactly the same as ordinary Research Points.

  • You might want to use CRP especially if:
    • You have some spare Golden Eagles lying around
    • You want to quickly unlock your favourite vehicle
    • You want to try out a new addition to the game as soon as possible after an update
    • You are a member of the War Thunder Content Partnership Program and wish to review and/or discuss a specific vehicle
  • Instead of boosting research progress of modifications with Convertible Research Points, it uses Golden Eagles directly.
