Calculating Turn Time and Turn Radius

To get Turn Time:

  1. Remove all additional weaponry (torpedoes, depth charges, etc.)
  2. Enter a full rudder deflection turn (either starboard or port, shouldn't matter) at flank speed (FLK AHEAD)
  3. Wait for the speed to stabilize (turns should be completed at constant speeds), note the speed here
  4. Complete several turns (>5; the more, the better), record the times to complete each turn
  5. Take the average of the times

To get Turn Radius:

  • Using the constant turn speed from above, do the following calculation:
