Description

The WBG depth charge is a depth charge with a short fuse that can be found on many German boats and one Italian boat. It is often seen on lower BR boats. The depth charge resembles a barrel that looks similar to other depth charges.

Vehicles equipped with this weapon

General info

A short fuse depth charge on 9 German boats (3.7BR-4.7BR) and one Italian boat (3.3BR). It is mostly found on destoryers and sub chasers but it can also be found on K2 which is a frigate

Effective damage

The explosive mass is 100kg and the explosive it uses is amatol. For the most part you use splash damage

Comparison with analogues

Give a comparative description of depth charges that have firepower equal to this weapon.

Usage in battles

There are a few areas where you might use this depth charge:

1: When shooting at another ship sometimes you get really close to each other when you don't want to use torpedoes at very close range launch these off to a ship beside or following you

2: These are also quite effective at causing major damage to smaller ships if they are quite close. They do not usually outright kill it but usually makes it inoperable. If possible knock out its propeller with these then finish it off with your bigger guns once you get far enough away to shoot it

3: if a floatplane is trying to capture a point these are very effective at destroying it when landed

Pros and cons

Pros: Very useful in certain situations (listed above)

Cons: Almost never used besides a few certain situations

History

Examine the history of the creation and combat usage of the weapon in more detail than in the introduction. If the historical reference turns out to be too long, take it to a separate article, taking a link to the article about the weapon and adding a block "/History" (example: https://wiki.warthunder.com/(Weapon-name)/History) and add a link to it here using the main template. Be sure to reference text and sources by using <ref></ref>, as well as adding them at the end of the article with <references />.
