P-51 (Family)

I noticed that you made an edit to P-51 (Family) that added hidden sections for future documentation of the Mustang's history. I would not add these to the family article, I would create a history article for this purpose (which, coincidentally, I have already started working on here).

Also, your hidden comment "Please do not change this page in anyway" is discouraged on most wikis as it constitutes "ownership of articles", which goes against the spirit of collaboration. I see that there is no article on this wiki that covers this problem, but there is such a page on Wikipedia that I believe applies to all organized collaborative wikis. thunderdog1138 (talk) 22:36, 11 November 2019 (UTC)

• @thunderdog1138, while it may appear as if patrioticalien is staking claim to the P-51 (Family) page, I don't think that is the deal. Since we have migrated from the old wiki to this one over the last year we have had several projects lined up we wanted to implement and have been rolling them out as time has allowed. The Family pages initially were just a collective page which just provided links to different variants of the same vehicle, however, we have thought they could be a little more and hence patrioticalien is creating the first prototype of this page addition. We don't have a "test wiki" or a separate development platform in which to prototype stuff before implementing it, just like everyone else, we have to do all that here too. It jus happens that the both of you are working on similar things at the same time, let's give him an opportunity to finish fleshing out this prototype so we can have a working copy we can implement on other family pages. I do appreciate the work you are doing with your history section of the P-51 family. I am very interested to see how yours fleshes out, however, it may get to a size where it would not be feasible to put it on the P-51 pages or the family page, instead, we may look at giving it its own page much like US Bombs General Information or Japan Bombs General Information and from there we can create links on the appropriate pages with the main template ({{main|P-51 History}} or something like that). You are correct that this is a collaborative effort and there are lots of good ideas going around to make the War Thunder Wiki a very interesting and informative wiki for everyone to use and contribute to. I think it is interesting when doing a Google search, how close to the top of the results often times the WT Wiki pages come up.
