With Germany having the Radkampfwagen 90, Britain having the Rooikat Mk.1D and Rooikat 105, Japan with the Type 16, Italy with the B1 Centauro, Centauro ROMOR and Centauro MGS and lastly France with the AMX-10RC, I think the desire to see America's most iconic wheeled tank destroyer is stronger than ever.

Currently, the US has only one class of aircraft carrier in War Thunder, and that is the Yorktown-class. This is incredibly anachronistic for how far the game has progressed. This is a carrier that was designed for WWII-era aircraft, and this class was retired in 1947. That is why I'm proposing aircraft carriers designed for the aircraft in-game, and for future aircraft.

* In commission as early as 1942, I feel this aircraft carrier would be ideal for aircraft of the late 40s-50s such as the AD‑4, F3D‑1, F2H‑2, F9F‑2, F9F‑5, F9F‑8 and the FJ‑3 Fury.

* In commission during the 60s, I feel this aircraft carrier would be ideal for aircraft during the 60s, such as the F‑4 Phantom II, A‑4 Skyhawk, F‑8 Crusader, A‑7 Corsair II, A‑6 Intruder, F‑11F‑1 Tiger and A3D‑2 Skywarrior.

Since the "D.C.Ariete" was removed from sale and is effectively no longer in the game, I feel that Italy should get a standard tech tree M60A1. Italy produced over 200 of these, and are a significant part of Italy's military history; with the premium gone, the representation is also gone. Italy's tech tree is also pretty sparse anyway, so adding this back into the game in this fashion would be a no brainer. As you can see from the image, you could even give it ERA to differentiate it from the M60A1 "D.C.Ariete" if you wanted.

Guns: 4 × 20 mm (0.79 in) Colt Mk 16 cannon
Ammunition load: 940 total rounds
220 rounds/gun (upper pair)
250 rounds/gun (lower pair)
Payload: 8 × 60 lb High Explosive rockets; or
2 × 60 lb HE rockets and 6 × 500 lb bombs
Missiles: 2 × AIM-9 Sidewinder missiles (only in RCN service)

Differences from the F2H-2 variant in game? Lengthened fuselage, enlarged nose, redesigned tail, increased fuel capacity, and eight underwing weapons pylons for a 3,000 lb bomb payload, as opposed to the 4 x 250 lb or 2 x 500 lb bombloads of the F2H-2. Armed with 4 x Colt Mk 16 cannons (similar to the cannons on the FJ-4B), as opposed to the AN/M3s of the F2H-2. This plane would be an amazing ground attacker. Would love to see it foldered with the F2H‑2.

F3D-2

640px-Skyknight.png

 • Developed from the F3D-1, featuring better engines, wing spoilers, autopilot, and an improved AN/APQ-36 radar.

I'd love to see the F3D-2 added in a folder with the F3D-1. The F3D-1 struggles with being sluggish, and I feel like the extra ~273 kfg from the Westinghouse J34-WE-38 engines would make the Skynight a lot more viable, and would entice a lot more people to play this plane. Plus, it takes the already good radar system found on the F3D-1 and improves upon it, making this likely one of the best night fighters in the game.

F-8 Crusader

F-8E_VMF-212_CVA-34_1965_%28cropped%29.jpg

Introduction year: 1957
 • The last American jet aircraft to equip guns as it's main armament, earning it the nickname "The Last of the Gunfighters".
 • The first jet fighter in US service to reach 1,000 mph.
 • Was primarily used during the Vietnam War.
 • Was in active service with the US Navy until 1985, and the US Naval Reserve until 1987 as photo-reconnaissance; a full 30 years after it's introduction.

While the F‑101 Voodoo was designed to carry nuclear payloads in real life, I feel that the cannon-equipped F‑101A would make a fun supersonic jet for War Thunder. Unfortunately, the F‑101A would lack any payload options as none were fitted historically. This would make the F‑101A a dedicated fighter within the confines of the game.

M60A1

Since the M60A1 "D.C.Ariete" was removed from sale and is effectively no longer in the game, I feel that Italy should get a standard tech tree M60A1.

Gaijin please, give Italy an M60A1!
