      • Gets 2 x bomb racks of 6 x 60 kg bombs which can be used to hit multiple targets
    • 2 x 800 kg No. 80 Land Bombs

    • Bomber spawn
    • Decent combined defensive armament

* JXX as a land-based fighter:

    • Usually gets interceptor spawn
    • Powerful armament
      • Plenty of ammo
    • Armour and self-sealing fuel tanks
    • Excellent climb rate
    • Excellent top speed
    • Excellent dive characteristics
    • Great energy retention

* NXX as a hydroplane fighter:

    • Landing floats
      • Can capture points in Naval
    • Breaking off the floats makes you a capable dogfighter

* Common Navy plane construction:

  • Ground targets: Great for Ground battles
  • AP-I:
  • Shreds soft targets, and can weaken/destroy tanks with weak top armour, especially engine decks
  • Easily sets fire to air targets
  • HEF(T):
  • Tracer can help you aim on target
  • The few rounds in the belt can still wreck havoc on enemy planes with their HE filler
  • Stealth: Great for Air battles
  • No tracers
  • HEF:
  • Near full HE belt
  • Wrecks havoc on enemy planes with HE filler
  • AP-I:
  • Easily sets fire to air targets
  • Excellent manoeuvrability
  • Nose-mounted armament
  • Little radiator drag

    • High top speed for a torpedo bomber (464 km/h)
  • D4Y specific:
    • Fast, can outrun almost anything, save P-38s
      • Its speed forces the enemy to tail behind your gunner, giving you a chance to shoot at the approaching fighter with your turret
  • D4Y3 Ko specific:
    • Improved defensive armament
    • Improved radial engine which won't overheat, and is an improvement from the D4Y1 and D4Y2

    • Strictly air-to-air role
    • Limited ammo
    • Slow
    • Low dive speed, and compresses easily in a dive

* BXX as a carrier-based torpedo bomber:

    • No offensive armament
    • No airbrakes
    • Relatively large target

* DXX as a carrier-based dive bomber:

    • Has bomb cradle, significant delay in fuselage bomb drop
    • Few ordnance options
    • Not good for bombing bases

* HXX as a flying boat:

    • Huge target
    • Slow
    • Lack of land-suitable gear
      • Very unreliable to land on regular runways

* GXX as a land-based attack bomber:

    • Large target

* JXX as a land-based fighter:

    • Severe control stiffening at higher speeds
      • Doesn't turn well
      • Elevator doesn't respond well

* NXX as a hydroplane fighter:

    • Excessive drag due to pontoon
      • Poor climb rate and turn time
      • Very poor dogfighter

* Common Navy plane construction:
