== Description ==

The MiG-23MF is an export modification of the Soviet third-generation supersonic jet fighter MiG-23M with a variable sweep wing. In this modification, the avionics were changed in favor of more budgetary and somewhat simplified systems. The MiG-23MF was delivered to all the main countries of the Warsaw Pact, as well as to the Arab states of the Middle East, Africa, India and Cuba.

The MiG-23MF was added to the game as the main aviation prize [https://warthunder.ru/ru/news/15530-akciya-operaciya-zima-ru "Operation W.I.N.T.E.R" in 2021] and is placed in the tree of the German aircraft. The MIG-23MF inherits all the main characteristics from the [[MiG-23M | original]] Soviet one - a top speed of about 2500 km / h, a very good climb rate, a variable sweep wing and a large array of weaponry . The disadvantages also remained: a limited number of countermeasures, a limited number of weapon suspension nodes and rather mediocre maneuverability at transonic speeds.

The MiG is equipped with a Tumansky R-29-300 turbojet engine, which enables it to accelerate to a maximum speed of over 1500 km / h (Mach 1.3) at the ground. The aircraft has excellent dynamics, but only after 1000 km / h does the aircraft has better dynamics than the MiG-23M, however still worse than the British Phantoms. In addition, the MiG has a good rate of climb - 220 m / s, which is one of the best in the game.

''Describe the tactics of playing in the aircraft, the features of using aircraft in a team and advice on tactics. Refrain from creating a "guide" - do not impose a single point of view, but instead, give the reader food for thought. Examine the most dangerous enemies and give recommendations on fighting them. If necessary, note the specifics of the game in different modes (AB, RB, SB).'' -->

=== Pros and cons ===

''Summarise and briefly evaluate the vehicle in terms of its characteristics and combat effectiveness. Mark its pros and cons in the bulleted list. Try not to use more than 6 points for each of the characteristics. Avoid using categorical definitions such as "bad", "good" and the like - use substitutions with softer forms such as "inadequate" and "effective".''
