Description

The Stridsfordon 9040C is a rank VII Swedish light tank with a battle rating of 10.3 (AB/RB/SB). It was introduced in Update 1.97 "Viking Fury".

Usage in battles

Flanking and patience is key, Its stock APSDFS, even the unlockable one, cant go trough the frontal armor or mantlet on almost all Main Battle Tanks it will commonly found, requiring side shots or aiming for weak spots (the turret ring etc), however, this can be tricky as at its Battle Rating pretty much all vehicles are very fast in all aspects, so caution is required, especially having hull break, which it can easily get by being shot by heavy machine guns from the side.

Stick with teammates with dedicated tanks which can protect it from incoming shells, or hide and flank, like in bushes.

Pros and cons

Pros:

• Rapid-fire 40 mm gun with APFSDS
• Shreds enemy tanks from the sides
• HE-VT useful against helicopters
• Very mobile
• Low profile
• Deadly in flanking manoeuvres

Cons:

• Susceptible to hullbreak
• Speed not too impressive when compared to other top tier tanks
