Description
The 5.56 mm MG4 is a German machine gun currently seen used in-game on the PUMA. It is the second machine gun using an intermediate cartridge introduced in the game, coming after the 5.8 mm QJT machine gun.

History
The MG4 is a light machine gun and complements the MG3 at the infantry group level of the Bundeswehr. It was developed by Heckler & Koch as part of the IdZ program (Infantryman of the Future). Because the weapon weighs less than the MG3, infantry groups can use two fully armed machine gunners instead of one machine gunner (MG 1) and one machine gun squad leader or observer (MG 2).
