Description
The Sistema Italiano Difesa Aerea Mobile, 25mm (shortened to SIDAM 25) is a Rank VI Italian self-propelled anti-aircraft gun
with a battle rating of 8.3 (AB/RB/SB). It was introduced in Update 1.85 "Supersonic".
The SIDAM 25 is a radar equipped SPAA equipped with 4x25mm Oerlikon KBA Cannons with the ability to fire HEI-T* and APDS. Because of the high fire density, this SPAA is able to destroy planes withing seconds and just needing a few rounds to hit their target. The M792 and Default belt rounds (HEI-T*) contain a TNT equivalent of 54.4 grams in each of the rounds and have a great muzzle velocity of 1100 m/s which makes it easier to aim at the faster flying planes that you will encounter. But until you get the M791 belt (APDS) you can't kill any tanks if they even have a tiny bit of armour, since your maximum penetration is only 3mm. But when you get the M791 belt, attacking tanks will be much easier, with the aquired belt you recieve a penetration of 110mm at 10 meters and 0 degrees, combined with a muzzle velocity of 1345 m/s. But don't waste this belt too fast! You can only take 60 rounds of this belt, so aim your shots carefully! Overall, be very careful with your ammunition considering the firerate and the small ammunition count. 4x550 rpm and a maximum of 660 rounds means tat you can run out of ammo in about 18 seconds of constant firing.

Sensors
The SIDAM 25 is equipped with a 3JB10 optronic tracking system, with no search radar. The tracking system does not trigger the radar warning receiver fitted to some helicopters.
Although the tracker can track targets in an elevation range of -20°/+85° once locked on, it can only initially lock on to targets between -20°/+20° in elevation. |

Usage in the battles
Describe the tactics of playing in the vehicle, the features of using vehicles in the team and advice on tactics. Refrain from creating a "guide" - do not impose a single point of view but give the reader food for thought. Describe the most dangerous enemies and give recommendations on fighting them. If necessary, note the specifics of the game in different modes (AB, RB, SB).
Pros and cons
Pros:
- Has an Optronic tracking system allowing targets to be tracked and providing a lead indicator
- 550 RPM on the 25 mm guns, a combined 2200 RPM
- Two axis stabilizer
- APDS can penetrate 110 mm
Cons:
- Thin armor, can be hull-broken
- APDS rounds are a tier 3 modification
- Not very mobile compared to other tanks and SPAA at its rank
- Only 60 rounds per APDS belt, o 15 shots total per belt
- No search radar
- Can only lock-on to targets -20°/+20° in elevation
History
Describe the history of the creation and combat usage of the ground vehicle in more detail than in the introduction. If the historical reference turns out to be too big, take it to a separate article, taking a link to an article about the vehicle and adding a block "/historical reference" (example: https://wiki.warthunder.com/Name-vehicles/historical reference) and add a link to it here using the main
template. Be sure to include links to sources at the end of the article.
Media
An excellent addition to the article will be video guides, as well as screenshots from the game and photos.
