This page is about the American air-to-ground missile AGM-65H. For other versions, see AGM-65 (Family).

Description

The AGM-65H is one of the most modern variant of the AGM-65 family. It uses a TV seeker with increased range (due to a CCD seeker) and a HEAT warhead capable of penetrating up to 830 mm of armour

Vehicles equipped with this weapon

General info

Missile characteristics
Mass 226.8 kg
Guidance TV
Maximum speed 0.9 M
Missile guidance time 105.0 s
Launch range 23 km
Explosive mass 51.19 kg TNTeq
Warhead type HEAT
Armour penetration 830 mm

Effective damage

The AGM-65H has a large HEAT payload capable of destroying any tank with a successful hit. It has amazing post-pen damage, but sometimes it fails to one-shot tanks.

Comparison with analogues

The AGM-65H has the same warhead that is found on the AGM-65A, AGM-65B, and AGM-65D.

Usage in battles

Describe situations when you would utilise this missile in-game (vehicle, pillbox, base, etc)

Pros and cons

Pros:

  • Long lock-and-launch range, capable of outranging many top rank SPAAs
  • High explosive mass and penetration, which ensures a critical hit on any vehicle that has been hit
  • Fire-and-forget capability

Cons:

  • Cannot be used in all-weather conditions or in low visibility areas.
  • Tracking a moving target requires the missile to get closer, but static tracking can be done from further away
  • Cannot be fired without a lock
  • The seeker head does not have a thermal sight requiring the player to find targets without it

History

Examine the history of the creation and combat usage of the weapon in more detail than in the introduction. If the historical reference turns out to be too long, take it to a separate article, taking a link to the article about the weapon and adding a block "/History" (example: https://wiki.warthunder.com/(Weapon-name)/History) and add a link to it here using the main template. Be sure to reference text and sources by using <ref></ref>, as well as adding them at the end of the article with <references />.

Media

Excellent additions to the article would be video guides, screenshots from the game, and photos.
