== Description ==

The '''{{Specs|name}}''' is a rank {{Specs|rank}} Swedish light tank {{Battle-rating}}. It was introduced in [[Update 1.97 "Viking Fury"]].

The {{PAGENAME}} is a Swedish IFV capable of firing modern shells at a devastating rate, effectively dealing with any type of opponent it faces, resulting in a valuable support vehicle.

== General info ==
Compared to most IFVs found in the game, the {{PAGENAME}} is a lot different to its peers. The tank has no Anti-tank missiles, and sits at the highest ranks, facing vehicles other IFVs never get to experience. This is due to the design of the vehicle, as the {{PAGENAME}} features a reliable 40mm Bofors cannon, which should be familiar to most players. However, this cannon features something unlike any other 40mm. The vehicle fires sub-caliber shells with fin-stabilization, capable of shredding any opponent from the side, even frontally. This compensates for the lack of missiles, and results in a highly versatile vehicle capable of disposing several opponents at once, as it can fire up to 24 shells in the span of 12 seconds.

If the anti-tank capabilities weren't enough, the cannon features Proximity-fused High-explosive shells, capable of tearing apart any unsuspecting aerial opponent. This feature is incredibly useful in higher tiers, as close-range helicopters and attacking planes are incredibly common. Despite the {{PAGENAME}} lacking any form of radar equipment compared to its SPAA sister, the [[Lvkv 9040C]], the tank can still effectively deal with aerial targets, especially at closer ranges.

=== Survivability and armour ===
The tank has a decent amount of amor for an light Tank. The whole Tank is nearly complety coverd with an amor package against Heat and missile rounds.

The upper front hull a heavely sloped 20mm thick plate coverd with an variable thick AHP (Anti-Heat-Plate). The lower plate is only coverd on the upper half with AHP, but an really thick plate. Standard thickness is 20mm. In the front is also the engine and transmission that can stop any Heat that may gone trough the AHP. Also behind the engine is an 10mm thick inner plate that stops most shrapnells that come from the shell. The upper side has an inner 10mm plate, an outter 6mm plate that is behind an 160mm AHP. The lower side has an 10mm thick plate that is partly behind the sprocket system that ads another 30mm that is also behind an 80mm thick AHP. The back has no AHP, just a 20mm thick plate.

Now the turret is completly coverd in 20mm plates exept for the gunmatlet that has 35mm raw. But the Turret is coverd from the front to 2/3 of the sides very well in AHP. Also the whole roof is 20mm thick.

At all is the Tank from front and sides turret and hull save from autocanons (most times depends on the angle),heavy/light machinegun fire and with some angle it's most times save from Heat shells of any kind with 400mm penatration. The amor when angeld is wuite bouncy but not even close to being enough to stop a APFSDS. The rear turret/hull can be penatret by anything that has a 50 cal. or sth. bigger.

The survibility is quite good, as long as overpressure does not waste the potential, cause of a realy empty space in the back, protectet fuel tank, small ammo storages and a speratet crewman from the turret. When shot in front 2 crewman can be taken out at once as well for the side, but hitting those if not known where they sit can save your tank soemtimes.

Flanking or very carefully aimed shots are key as none of the 9040C's ammo types can penetrate the frontal armour of most MBTs found at the BR, but its high rate of fire means that penetrations are quickly lethal. Since the magazine carries 24 rounds, it is advisable to fire the weapon in burst of either four or eight rounds with an interval of 2 - 4 seconds in between, especially at range.

However, the vehicle's low armour and relatively average speed mean that patience and caution will be what keep you alive long enough to actually ''get'' those kills.

=== Pros and cons ===

Armour used on this vehicle is fairly typical of other armoured half-tracks, enough to block rifle calibre machine guns from most angles, but practically non-existent against any antitank weapon. That said, it can be surprisingly durable thanks to the large radiator and engine that love to soak up shrapnel from high explosive shells which are too small too cause hull break.

=== Mobility ===

{{tankMobility|abMinHp= 97|rbMinHp= 60|}}

== Armaments ==
=== Main armament ===
''Give the reader information about the characteristics of the main gun. Assess its effectiveness in a battle based on the reloading speed, ballistics and the power of shells. Do not forget about the flexibility of the fire, that is how quickly the cannon can be aimed at the target, open fire on it and aim at another enemy. Add a link to the main article on the gun:
<nowiki>{{main|Name of the weapon}}</nowiki>
. Describe in general terms the ammunition available for the main gun. Give advice on how to use them and how to fill the ammunition storage.''

Arguable the best and worst part about this vehicle. It can unload 10 rockets in a matter of seconds, each one capable of 1 shotting any tank in the game (via the roof or floor pen by the blast) in any direction. But they are very slow and the scope is inaccurate, meaning they require massive lead and elevation compensation that the player has nothing but their own reckoning to achieve. And you only get 1 reload.

=== Additional armament ===
''Some tanks are armed with several guns in one or more turrets. Evaluate the additional weaponry and give advice on its use. Describe the ammunition available for additional weaponry. Give advice on about how to use them and how to fill the ammunition storage. If there is no additional weaponry remove this subsection.''

=== Machine guns ===
''Offensive and anti-aircraft machine guns not only allow you to fight some aircraft but also are effective against lightly armoured vehicles. Evaluate machine guns and give recommendations on its use.''

A single MG-42 mounted over the cab. Limited traverse but fast firing, useful for spotting, knocking out unarmored trucks, grabbing the occassional assist against low flying planes.

== Usage in battles ==
''Describe the tactics of playing in the vehicle, the features of using vehicles in the team and advice on tactics. If necessary, note the specifics of the game in different modes (AB, RB, SB).''

The thin armour and low-velocity ordinance serve very well in short-range ambushes but leave much to be desired in open terrain. With lots of skill, practice, and/or luck, you can score hits at considerable range, but the armour will NOT protect you. The engine can make a great shield against shrapnel from 75 mm and sometimes 105 mm HE rounds, but APHE is almost guaranteed to kill all 3 crew members and detonate the spare rockets if you brought them.

=== Pros and cons ===
''Summarize and briefly evaluate the vehicle in terms of its characteristics and combat effectiveness. Mark its pros and cons in a bulleted list. Try not to use more than 6 points for each of the characteristics. Avoid using categorical definitions such as "bad", "good" and the like - use substitutions with softer forms such as "inadequate" and "effective".''

'''Pros:'''

* Decent mobility
* Fast reload for ten rockets
* Will do huge amounts of damage to SPAA and light tanks due to rockets large blast radius

'''Cons:'''

* Poor penetration (~40 mm)
* Paper thin armour, even the smallest calibre machine guns can destroy it
=== Development ===
Production started in 1942 by the Opel company based on a Maultier half track. It was produced in series from April 1943 to March 1944 together with the accompanying ammunition vehicle, the Sd.Kfz. 4. In total Opel 296 Panzerwerfer 42 and 251 produced ammunition vehicles Sd.Kfz. 4.

=== In-game description ===
A modified Nb.Wf.41 ten-barreled rocket-propelled mine-thrower was installed on the adapted chassis of an Opel Maultier tractor trailer enclosed in armor. It was developed in 1942. During its production from 1943 to 1944 about 300 mounts were released. They were widely used by the Wehrmacht. Due to the use of a mine-stabilization system based on rotation, a higher degree of accuracy and lower spread was achieved than that of rocket-propelled projectiles with tailfin stabilization systems.
