Pros and cons

Pros:

  • Half-track mount gives better cross-country movement than previous trucks
  • 37 mm cannon is very effective when it hits an aircraft
  • Driver and commander are protected in an enclosed driving compartment
  • The gun is able to shoot targets directly in front of the vehicle, unlike some of the previous AA trucks
  • More capable of protecting the driver and gunner from small calibre machine gun rounds than the GAZ trucks.

Cons:

  • Thin-skinned vehicle, HE rounds will destroy it
  • Heavy caliber machine guns can penetrate through the front
  • Open turret configuration, open to machine gun fire
  • Has a rather unusual tendency to wobble side-to-side when driving, making it harder to fire on the move

Belts Shell composition Tips and usage
Default AP-T – HEFI-T 50% of this belt are useless against tanks or planes. However against other SPAA this belt can reliably take out crew, armament, ammo and engine. Having one belt in reserve does not hurt.
BR-167 AP-T Intermidiate usage until the better BR-169P (HVAP-T / APCR-T) can be used. Decent enough versus light tanks and other vehicels from the rear. Due the lack of HE filler underwhelming damage.
UO-167 HEFI-T Versus planes. One or two hits usually gets the job done. Heavy armoured attackers and bombers may require more though.
