Fields of Normandy is a ground forces map available in all modes. It is the Normandy, but the battle area has been moved to the fields south of the main town (the battle area on the Normandy map is usually restricted to just the main town). It was added in Update 1.59 "Flaming Arrows" or in a smaller patch afterwards. The map has lots of hedge rows tanks can hide in and wait to pick off enemies, there are lots of open fields, that although sometimes offering the shortest route to capture zones and other strategic points leave the player exposed. There are two small settlements in the north and south of the map, and a large airship hangar in the middle.

The tank battles area is restricted to 1.8km x 1.8km. The planes battle area is 65km x 65km.

This missile is not agile. Do not use them on targets that are manoeuvrable as they will easily evade it. Instead, use them on bombers or aircraft that have no energy left as they will be more difficult for them to evade.
The large airship hangar in the middle of the map is visible from most locations and is often a capture point. Historically the hangar was significantly further inland, and closest to Utah Beach.

There are three Capture Points. Point A will be at the airship hangar in the center of the map, B is in the small settlement in the south, C is in small settlement in the North of the map.

Description

Write an introduction to the article in 2-3 small paragraphs. Briefly tell us about the history of the development and combat using the weaponry and also about its features. Compile a list of air, ground, or naval vehicles that feature this weapon system in the game.

Vehicles equipped with this weapon

General info

Tell us about the tactical and technical characteristics of the bomb.

Effective damage

Describe the type of damage produced by this type of bomb (high explosive, splash damage, etc)

Comparison with analogues

Give a comparative description of bombs that have firepower equal to these type of weapons.

- Firestreaks have a warhead of 22.7 kilograms, being more than four times as deadly than the AIM-9B which only have 4.5 kilograms.

Usage in battles

Describe situations when you would utilize this bomb in game (vehicle, pillbox, base, etc)

This missile is not agile. Do not use them on targets that are manoeuvrable as they will easily evade it. Instead, use them on bombers or aircraft that have no energy left as they will be more difficult for them to evade.

As this missile seeks infrared radiation (IR), be aware of locking onto other sources of heat that can throw itself off course such as other teammates, flares and of course, the Sun.

Pros and cons

Summarize and briefly evaluate the weaponry in terms of its characteristics and combat effectiveness. Mark pros and cons as a list.

Pros:

- Rather large warhead

Cons:

- Not very agile, easily avoidable at >5G

History

Examine the history of the creation and combat usage of this weapon. If the historical reference turns out to be too big, take it to a separate article, taking a link to an article about the vehicle and adding a block "/ History" (example: https://wiki.warthunder.com/(weapon-name)/History) and add a link to it here using the main template. Be sure to reference text and sources by using <ref>, as well as adding them at the end of the article.

Media

An excellent addition to the article would be a video guide, as well as screenshots from the game and photos.
