The main purpose, usage and tactics recommendations

General play style

The A-35B is best used as a "swing fighter", switching between ground targets and slow, lumbering air targets as your bombs get used up. The typical American 6x12.7mm MG armament allows this aircraft to hit hard at targets that sit still long enough for you to get a bead on them.

Use caution, however, to avoid getting into a fight with any sort of air superiority fighter. The A-35B is slow, cumbersome, and not particularly agile.

History of creation and combat usage

In 1940, during World War Two, the French Air force issued a specification for a single-engined dive bomber. The A-35 had many interesting and unconventional design features for its time. It was designed to dive almost vertically and had an angle of incidence of 0 degrees. Which hampered cruising and visibility. The worst problem on many A-35s were cooling. It saw limited used with the Free French for engine cooling reasons and the lack of aerial superiority in the local region.
